All sessions are delivered by experienced coaches with elite-level playing and coaching backgrounds across roller and/or ice hockey disciplines.

Our coaching team is made up of passionate, knowledgeable, and highly skilled individuals who have competed and coached at national and international levels. Each coach brings a unique style and set of specialties—from skating mechanics and puck control to tactical awareness and team play.

Scott Plews

Playing History:
Scott Plews is a well-respected name in Scottish hockey, with a playing career that spans decades and includes top-level experience in both ice and roller hockey. He represented the Fife Flyers and Edinburgh Capitals in the British Ice Hockey Superleague, bringing a powerful, physical presence and intelligent defensive play to every team he played for. Scott has also competed at national level in roller hockey and remains a passionate ambassador for the sport in Scotland.

About Scott:
Known for his no-nonsense approach and deep knowledge of the game, Scott brings intensity, structure, and motivation to every session. He believes in building strong, smart players who understand the "why" behind every drill, not just the "how."


Fun Fact:
Scott has coached and mentored several players who have gone on to play at professional and international levels—his insight and honesty make him a favourite among serious athletes.

Daryl Venters

Playing History:
Daryl Venters is a quick, technically skilled player with a strong foundation in ice hockey. He came through the junior development system in Fife, representing the Kirkcaldy Kestrels and competing in Scotland's top domestic leagues with The Fife Flyers. Known for his explosive skating and creativity with the puck, Daryl has earned a reputation as a high-IQ forward with a strong offensive mindset. He’s also represented Scotland at youth level and played in various UK tournaments, where he consistently stood out as a playmaker.

  • Shooting mechanics and scoring drills

About Daryl:
Daryl brings a player-first approach to coaching. His sessions are fast-paced, engaging, and built around technical development and decision-making. He is especially strong in working with young players, helping them unlock confidence while refining their skills in real-game scenarios.


Fun Fact:
Daryl is a firm believer in using small-area games to build big-time players. His motto: “Master the basics, play with flair.”

Kyle Horne

Playing History:
Kyle Horne is one of Scotland’s most accomplished hockey players, with an extensive professional career that includes over a decade with the Fife Flyers, competing in both the British National League and Elite League. Known for his composure, vision, and hockey IQ, Kyle also represented Great Britain at international level, gaining invaluable experience at the highest tiers of the game. His transition into coaching has made him a standout mentor for players aiming to reach elite standards.

With a strong emphasis on reading the play and making smart, efficient decisions under pressure, Kyle is especially valuable for players looking to elevate their all-round game and compete at national or international level.

Kyle holds the rare distinction of having played professionally while also serving as a coach and mentor—his dual experience makes him uniquely qualified to develop both the physical and mental sides of an athlete’s game.
